Talk and slide presentation at the Elisha Kent Kane Historical Society
 Medium Maggie Fox was still a teenager in 1853 when Arctic explorer, Elisha Kent Kane fell in love with her. So enchanted was Elisha that on the eve of his second Arctic expedition he commissioned Italian artist Joseph Fagnani to paint this portrait of Maggie and brought it with him to the Far North. The story of Maggie and Elisha's romance is one of America's greatest love stories.
